Started in 2009, AREA 5 is a San Francisco-based production company founded by digital media veterans. Videogame fans know us from The 1UP Show and CO-OP , and now from our feature-length documentaries: GROUNDED: Making The Last of Us , and I AM Street Fighter: 25 Years of Inspiration, both of which have reached over a million views on YouTube. Videogame publishers and developers know us for our unique and creative, documentary style approach to dev diaries, behind-the-scenes, and making-ofs that showcase their efforts in a way that emphasizes storytelling over rote facts and with production values that wouldn't be out of place on the big screen.
While our videogame projects are the most on display, our client reel (available upon request) is extensive and covers productions that range in format from ultra-large format IMAX® 3D and live action, to game trailers and motion graphics and animation.
